Michael is a lifelong resident of Acton, a community he has called home since 1964. He attended M.Z. Bennett Elementary and Acton High Schools and obtained his degree in Media Arts at Sheridan College. Michael worked with the Upper Grand District School Board in Guelph for 37 years until his retirement as the Manager of Information Technology.
He was first elected to Council in 2015 following a by-election and re-elected for his third term to represent Ward 1in 2022. He is an optimist who deals with issues and concerns in a sensible and realistic way.
Michael is a recipient of the Award of Merit for outstanding contribution to education, awarded by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, the Wellington County Board of Education’s Chairman Plus Award for improving teaching methods through the use of technology and Upper Grand District School Board’s Every Day Hero for outstanding achievement in education.
Michael has volunteered with the Acton Lions Club, Acton Baseball Association, Big Brother Canada, Acton Fall Fair with the Knights of Columbus, PanAm and Para PanAm games.
Michael believes in community service, supporting Acton Community Garden and Acton BIA and is the Chairperson of Acton Foodshare (Acton Food Bank).
Michael is Council’s Liaison to the Acton BIA Board of Directors and has been appointed as the Chairperson to the Halton Hills Accessibility Advisory Committee.
Michael is a family man who cares about his community, his children and grandchildren and their future. He enjoys cooking, wood carving, gardening, hiking.
As a life-long Halton Hills resident he takes tremendous pride serving on Town Council.
