Congratulations to all the 2016 volunteers from the Acton and Georgetown Centres who were recognized at our Volunteer Appreciation Lunch on April 25. They represent many hours given freely to the Centres to keep them running smoothly. Perhaps you would like to offer your time to this group. Call Heather at 905 873 2691 ext 2282 to discuss the many opportunities open to you.
Drop in or call Sherry @ 905 877 6444 to register to come out on Wednesday, May 3 to hear Heather Palmer, Amica’s Regional Director of Memory Care, for a lunch and learn session. Her topic is Changing the Brain, improving the way we think, feel, and function. Lunch will be served at noon. There is no charge for this.
St. Roch will be hosting their last lunch for this year on Thursday, May 4. Tickets are now on sale. They usually arrive around 10 to have some fun with the members.
Genealogy drop-in sessions begin on Friday May 5 @ 10:00 a.m. These will be Question and Answer sessions. If you are interested in taking part please let
Sherry know as space is limited to 10 participants. Cost is a drop-in fee each session.
Plans are well under way for our Annual Spring Fashion Show on Monday, May 8. Again our models will be sporting the fashions of Alia Tan/Jay and Northern Reflections. Tickets are available from Reception or from either of the two stores in the Mall. Light refreshments will be served and a 50/50 draw will be available.
The Indoor Gardening Club or Hort Heads, as they are called, is holding another six week session on Tuesday’s beginning May 9 until June 13. They meet at 10:00 a.m. There is a cost for supplies payable when you register at Reception. They seem to have lots of fun playing in the dirt.

The final count has been handed in for our trip to see “Guys and Dolls “ at Stratford. The next sign-up sheets are for the Blue Jays game in August and the musical “Me and My Gal” at Shaw Festival Theatre in Niagara-0n-the-lake (September) are waiting for your signature. Don’t wait too long or you will find yourself left out.
