Traditional ice programs are offered primarily in the fall and winter season, with the exception of Mold-Masters SportsPlex (Georgetown) that offers year-round ice. Popular programs include public and family skating, shinny, stick and puck, youth skates and more.

Skating Programs |
Parent & Tot SkatingSkating for children under 6 years who are accompanied by an adult on the ice. Child must wear a helmet. No hockey sticks or pucks allowed. Free use of skate aids is available at the arena, or bring your own. Strollers are allowed on the ice if the wheels have been cleaned. Parent & Tot ShinnyChildren under 6 years who are accompanied by an adult can focus on having fun developing hockey skills. Adults and preschoolers are permitted a stick and puck. For children, full hockey equipment including a CSA approved hockey helmet with face mask is mandatory. For adults, helmets are mandatory but full equipment is optional. Adults are not permitted to shoot or raise the puck in a manner that may be dangerous to others. Public SkatingOpen to all ages. Skate aids and strollers not permitted during regular ice season*. To use skate aids in fall/winter, please attend a family or parent & tot skate instead. CSA approved helmets are highly recommended with chinstraps fastened. *NOTE: Skate aids and strollers allowed in summer only. Family SkatingOpen to all ages. A parent or guardian 18 years of age or older must accompany children on the ice. Maximum of five participants including one adult. Free use of skate aids is available at the arena, or bring your own. Strollers are allowed on the ice if the wheels have been cleaned. Adult SkatingPersons 18 years and older. No hockey sticks or pucks allowed. Figure skaters should register for the figure skating session. During adult skate, no figure skating or hockey skills practice is allowed. CSA approved helmets are highly recommended with chinstraps fastened. Figure Skating Pick-UpFor experienced figure skaters. Admission is required for all participants, including coaches. Shinny - Youth 13-17 yrsPlay a fun pick-up game of shinny by dividing players equally based on skill level. Body contact, rough play and slap shots are NOT permitted. Parent/guardian must be 18 years of age or older and must remain in program area. Goalies are permitted. Full protective hockey equipment is required to be worn at all times by participants including a CSA approved helmet. Game is organized by participants. Shinny - AdultFor men and women 18 years and older. Full hockey equipment, including helmets must be worn. No body contact or rough play is allowed. Game is organized by participants. Shinny - 50+50 years and over. Full hockey equipment, including helmets must be worn. No body contact or rough play is allowed. Game is organized by participants. Stick & Puck - 12 yrs & underWork on puck control and skating skills. Shooting of the puck is not allowed other than for passing drills as no hockey nets will be provided. Ratio of instructor/coach/parent to child is not to exceed 1:2. Parent/guardian must be 18 years of age or older and must remain in the program area. Parent/guardian attending on ice must be accompanied by a child. Full protective hockey equipment is highly recommended to be worn at all times by participants. Helmets and gloves are mandatory for all participants. Body contact, rough play, game play, scrimmages are NOT permitted. Stick & Puck - FamilyWork on puck control and skating skills in a family environment. Shooting of the puck is not allowed other than for passing drills as no hockey nets will be provided. Outdoor rinks are closed for the season. Please check back for more information in January, 2025.
Weather permitting, Town staff will construct and maintain natural outdoor ice rinks during the winter season. Locations maintained by the Town of Halton Hills are intended as the primary locations to enjoy recreational outdoor skating during the winter season, but smaller rinks maintained by volunteers may also be available.

Do you offer passes? |
Yes! We offer time-based memberships and pre-purchased admissions (Active Passes). Visit our passes webpage to learn more. |
Do you offer skating lessons? |
No, the Town of Halton Hills does not offer skating instruction programs. However, there are several organizations within the community that offer skating lessons for all ages. Search online or give us a call to learn more about these organizations. |
Do you offer skating rentals? |
Rentals are available during public and family skating. The cost is $6.00 for skates and $3.00 for helmets, or both for $7.00. Depending on volume, rentals can be busy. If you are planning on renting skates or helmets, we suggest coming 15-20 minutes before the skate to allow time to fit the equipment. We will attempt to get everyone fitted in a timely manner but rentals are first come, first served. |
Can I buy food at the arena? |
Yes! Our canteens are open for hot food and beverages and snacks for games and tournaments. All arenas also have vending machines with cold drinks and snacks and bottle filling stations for your reusable water bottle. |
Do you have a pro shop or skate sharpening? |
Mold-Masters SportsPlex features a pro shop operated by an independent owner. Operating hours, services and prices are all set by the pro shop owner. Please contact the arena for more information. Acton Arena does not have a pro shop but does sell skate accessories such as laces, mouth guards, etc. from the customer service desk. |
Can I advertise on the digital screens outside the arenas? |
