Community Grant Program

Areas of support

Community groups, neighbourhood groups and organizations can choose one funding stream for their activity, event, or initiative. Funding streams include: 

• Community Projects: Support for group development activities, governance, marketing and promotion, strategic planning, training, and volunteer management. New activities, events, and initiatives that innovatively seek to meet or resolve a defined need within the community. This funding stream provides a maximum of $2,500.00 per group, per project.

• Neighbourhood Projects: Empowering residents and neighbourhood groups to create and host new activities and initiatives designed to celebrate and to build healthier, connected and more engaged neighbourhoods. This funding stream provides a one-time maximum of $250.00 per neighbourhood group.

• Special Events: Waiver of municipal fees for designated reoccurring events that take place on Town of Halton Hills’ property, that contribute to community vibrancy and draw broad public participation.  This includes expenses related to facility rental permits, road occupancy permits, loan of equipment related delivery fees (picnic tables, pylons, barriers, etc.) and other pre-approved supports for activities, events and/or initiatives. This funding stream provides a waiver of municipal fees for the use of Town facilities and/or equipment.

What's new

Other than the renewed name for the program, Community Development staff have also simplified the application process to make it less onerous. Furthermore, the guidelines have been revised and the final reporting requirements simplified.

• Local community groups

• Individuals

• Faith organizations

• Social service agencies

• Service clubs

• For-profit groups/organizations
