Retail cannabis stores |
On January 21, 2019, Town Council voted to allow retail cannabis storefronts in Halton Hills. You can read the results of the public consultation regarding retail cannabis storefronts. School properties and retail zones maps are available on Let's Talk Halton Hills. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario is the province’s official registrar to oversee the licensing and regulation of retail stores. Cannabis production notification process |
Health Canada licenses the production of cannabis across Canada, resulting in approved licensed producers (LPs). To get a licence to operate a production facility, you must apply to Health Canada in accordance with federal legislation. Upon receipt of notifications, the Town will notify the Fire Department, but you must provide separate written notice to Halton Regional Police Services. The following three steps outline the cannabis notification process:

Bill C-45, the Cannabis Act, provides for legal access to cannabis. It addresses the control and regulation of cannabis production, distribution and sales. Medical cannabis use |
