The Town of Halton Hills is committed to reducing energy and supporting the Town’s target of becoming a low carbon community. As part of that commitment the Town is taking action to reduce GHGs from Town operations. The 2020-2025 Corporate Energy Plan (CEP) provides a roadmap for reducing energy consumption, utility costs, and greenhouse gas emissions in the operations of Town facilities and fleet vehicles.
The CEP focuses on providing direction to Town’s facilities and fleets, to ensure optimal operational efficiency, educated decision making in capital planning, while investing in facility upgrades to achieve GHG reductions and highest returns on investment.
The 2019 Corporate Energy Consumption and Activities Report provides an overview of the Town’s energy consumption and GHG emissions, and outlines activities taken to 2019 to address energy and emissions at the Town.

Community energy
Community energy in a TOHH refers to local energy projects and initiatives that are owned, developed, and managed by the community, often in collaboration with the local government. These projects aim to increase the use of renewable energy, improve energy efficiency, and enhance local energy resilience. Here are some key aspects of community energy:
