Members of the public can request to appear as a delegation if they would like to speak before Council or submit comments via email in advance of the meeting. Submitted comments are circulated to Town Council and become part of the public record.

The Town of Halton Hills Council is elected by residents of Halton Hills for a four-year term of office through the municipal election process. The Town has a Mayor, two Regional Councillors and eight Ward Councillors.
As of October 31, 2023, the Ontario government has expanded strong Mayor powers to the Town of Halton Hills as per O.Reg. 530/22, which means that the Mayor has special powers and duties under Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001.
