Swimming is a great way to get fit and learn life-saving skills at any age. The Town of Halton Hills offers a wide range of programs to suit all ages and stages of life.
We want your visit to be safe and fun! Before you swim, make sure you're familiar with our admission policy. Visitors who don't meet the requirements will not be able to swim.

The pool admission policy applies to all swims in addition to the entrance requirements listed below. Please review the policy carefully before you arrive at the pool to ensure your group is eligible for admission. Choosing a swim programCheck out our Recreational Swimming Guide to help you choose an appropriate swim. 50+ SwimAvailable to anyone 50 years of age or older. The lap pool is divided into lanes for swimmers to swim lengths. Family SwimChildren must be directly supervised by a parent or guardian 18 years of age or older who must enter the water. Individual adults may attend Family Swim. Lane SwimPool is divided into lanes for participants to swim lengths. To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, participants must swim continuously and avoid obstructing other swimmers in their lane. Leisure SwimLeisure Swims are open to everyone! Come and have fun in the pool. Youth ages 10-18 can attend the Monday night leisure swim at the Acton Pool for free! Leisure / Lane SwimOpen to everyone. One-third of the pool is dedicated to lane swimming. Stretch and SwimAn opportunity for participants who want to exercise at their own pace. Swim widths, stretch, work through prescribed exercises, walk, or run through the water at your leisure. Swimmers must be 18 or older to attend. Youth SwimFor swimmers 11-18 years old only. Free admission! Youth 11-18 also swim for free at the Monday night Leisure Swim in Acton. |

Pool rules |
No phones, pleaseSwimming needs your full attention. Phones are not allowed in the pool (even if it's waterproof). Check how you’re feelingDon’t use the pool when experiencing symptoms of illness or if you are feeling unwell. Prevent pool foulingIndividuals who are not toilet trained must wear a tight-fitting pool diaper. Make time to visit the washroom before entering the pool. Shower before swimmingShower with soap and water before entering the pool. It’s clean, it’s green and it promotes better water quality. Wear appropriate clothingWear appropriate swim clothing that is different from the clothing you wore to the facility. Bring clean flip flops or sandals to wear on the pool deck (street shoes not permitted on pool deck). Keep food at homeFood is not allowed on the pool deck or change rooms. You may bring water in reusable, shatter-free containers. Be respectful when taking photosThe use of any device capable of taking photo and/or video is prohibited in the showers, change rooms and washrooms. When swimming, please only take photos of your family and friends and not of other swimmers. Keep valuables at homeThe Town of Halton Hills is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Valuables, including electronic devices, should be securely stored or left at home. Please remember:

How old do you have to be to swim on your own? |
Children 0-6 may not swim on their own and must be accompanied by a guardian age +14. Guardians may supervise a maximum of 2 children and must be in the water. Children 7-10 may only swim alone if they are able to pass the facility swim test. To pass the test, they must swim 2 widths of the pool without stopping or touching the bottom of the pool. They may also be required to tread water for 1 minute. If they cannot pass the test, they must be supervised by a guardian age +14 or leave the facility. Guardians may supervise a maximum of 2 children and must be in the water. |
How early do I have to arrive before a swim? |
While there is no requirement, we would suggest arriving 10-15 minutes before swim time to ensure a chance to park, pay admission, get changed and showered before your swim. |
Why do the lifeguards use whistles? |
The pool deck is a noisy place, so lifeguards use whistles to get your attention. Each whistle signal has its own meaning.

Can I rent the pool for a birthday party or celebration? |
Absolutely! We have a dedicated party room and exclusive or shared rental options for your next big party. To learn more visit our birthday party packages page. |
Can I bring my own pool toys? (Recreational Swimming Only) |
In order to keep the pools as clean as possible, please leave your toys at home. Lifejackets, noodles, mats, balls, and other pools toys are available at the pool for you to use. |
What do I do with my stroller? |
Strollers can be brought onto the pool deck and parked along the side. All strollers must have clean wheels. |
