Aqua fitness is for everyone! Unlike other water-based exercise, swimming technique and skill is not a pre-requisite. There are physical benefits for all fitness levels, from low-impact therapy and recovery to high energy programs like Running H20. In aqua fit, there is no fear of falling or impact-related injuries. Deep WaterModerate to intense total body workout including cardiovascular and muscle strengthening exercises. Must be comfortable in deep water. Floatation belts are provided and worn during class. Gentle Aqua FitLow level, low impact, low intensity water fitness class. It is ideal for older adults, participants with arthritis, those recovering from injuries or anyone who is looking to start working out. Running H2OStart running in the pool! An excellent way to cross-train or rehab an injury. This class will help improve water running technique, form and endurance. An excellent, impact-free cardio workout. You don’t have to be a swimmer as we supply your flotation belt and tether (must be comfortable in deep water). Get ready to sweat! Shallow / Deep Water CombinedParticipants can choose to do this class in the deep or shallow water. The instructor will adapt exercises to meet participant needs. Use the resistance of water to stretch, form and strengthen your muscles. Suitable for all fitness levels. Water WalkingJoin us for water walking! Are you interested in a great workout with no impact? This class is for you! Performing your walking workout in the shallow end of the pool will increase the intensity of activity. A light upper body resistance workout will accompany your walk routine. Also suitable for expectant mothers. Aqua Fit for Adults with Special NeedsAqua Fitness specially designed for adults with a special need. Use the buoyancy and resistance of water to improve flexibility, cardiovascular health and to have fun! Personal assistants / workers can escort participants into the pool for free. Each participant must have a support person who is knowledgeable about their condition at the pool and available to get in the water if necessary during the class. |

Acton Indoor Pool: Tuesday, September 3 to Friday, December 6. Gellert Community Centre: Monday, September 16 to Friday, December 20 No classes: Monday, September 2 (Labour Day), Monday, October 14 (Thanksgiving). The Gellert Community Centre is closed from Monday, September 2 to Sunday, September 15 for facility maintenance. The Acton Indoor Pool is closed from December 9 to December 22 for facility maintenance.
