Downtown Acton Spa Receives CIP Facade Improvement Grant

HALTON HILLS, ON – On March 6, the Town of Halton Hills proudly awarded the Facade Improvement Community Improvement Plan (CIP) grant to Smooth Solutions Spa & Laser Clinic located at 129 Mill St E, Acton. The $24,288.89 grant funded vital improvements, including a new walkway, upgraded lighting for the back parking area, and new siding on the rear of the building. These improvements have greatly enhanced both the functionality and accessibility of the property. 

Mayor Ann Lawlor, joined by Ward 1 Councillors Albano and Hilson, Regional Councilor Somerville, and members of the Town’s Economic Development division, presented the business with a ceremonial cheque to recognize the positive impact these upgrades have had on the Acton community. 

“I’m pleased that the Town is able to support our local businesses through the CIP program,” said Mayor Lawlor. “Investments in business are investments in our community. The exterior improvements to Smooth Solutions have really enhanced the look of the building and the downtown, not to mention improving accessibility.”  

Smooth Solutions Spa & Laser Clinic, founded in 2004 by Monica Van Helden, has been providing innovative spa and laser treatments to the Halton Hills community for nearly two decades. 

“The completed work has already delivered significant benefits to our business and clients,” said Van Helden. “The new walkway has improved accessibility, and issues like basement leaks and frozen pipes are now resolved. We’re grateful for the Town’s support, which has enabled us to enhance both our property and the client experience.” 

The Community Improvement Plan is one of the Town's key economic development tools. Through targeted grant programs, the CIP advances Council's priorities, encouraging private sector investments that generate many community benefits, including vibrant downtowns to live, visit and shop in; retention and growth of small businesses; local jobs; redevelopment of idle brownfields; thriving agriculture and agri-tourism; and heritage preservation. The CIP helps make Halton Hills the best place to live, work, play and invest.
