Back to SearchHALTON HILLS, ON – Residents are invited to visit the new skatepark at Mold-Masters SportsPlex (221 Guelph Street, Georgetown) and attend a celebratory event at 5 p.m. on September 20. Opened earlier in the month, the skatepark has already seen heavy usage indicating that the facility has been well received.
“It’s very important that we provide local recreational opportunities for our youth,” said Mayor Bonnette. “The addition of this skatepark adds another high-quality facility in Halton Hills and further demonstrates the Town’s commitment to supporting the needs of all our residents.”
The celebratory event will include free food, a contest organized by Driveway Skate Shop, large lawn games, music, prizes, and more.
Located on the south side of Mold-Masters SportsPlex, the new facility was designed by Newline Skatepark incorporating resident feedback from the Town’s engagement platform letstalkhaltonhills.ca along with input received from virtual skatepark design workshops. The main area of the skatepark includes a ‘street section’ with features for all abilities and a bowl with a spine. The site also includes a picnic shelter, lighting to permit nighttime use and a water fountain.
Halton Hills has three other skate features: two large skateparks at Acton Sports Park and Gellert Community Park and a small skate feature at Jubilee Woodlot in Georgetown.
