HALTON HILLS, ON – The Helson Gallery has extended its hours to increase public accessibility to art exhibitions. The gallery is now open an additional 10 hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.
Visitors can take advantage of the new hours to view Locally Grown, an annual exhibition of local artists living and working in Halton Hills which opened September 14. This exhibition showcases the creativity of artists over the past two years, and features over 50 works, many of which are available for purchase. The exhibition continues until October 23, 2022.
In the Sisnett Lobby, a display of the Halton Hills Plein Air Painters is currently on view until October 2. Consisting of Monica Burnside, Carol Hughes, Sheila Mitchell, Beatrice Roche, Rose Scully and Susan Ying, the group meets every Thursday from spring to late fall to paint in a Halton Hills area park. This exhibition features their paintings of local scenery, also offered for sale.
“Artists and creatives of all types help make our community vibrant and the Helson Gallery and Sisnett Lobby are excellent venues for them to showcase and sell their work,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “I’m very pleased that the extended hours allow residents and visitors even more opportunity to enjoy our local exhibitions.”
The Helson Gallery is located at 9 Church St., Halton Hills and is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Fridays and Sundays from 1 – 5 p.m.
