HALTON HILLS, ON – Flags at all municipal facilities including Town Hall have been lowered in recognition of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
“Her Majesty the Queen has reigned for over 7 decades, giving her life over to public service,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “Regardless of whether you consider yourself a ‘royal watcher’ or not, one must admire and recognize her service and dedication to the people. The world mourns with the Royal Family during their time of grief.”
Municipal flags will remain at half mast until sunset on the day of the funeral.
The Town of Halton Hills, with a population of approximately 60,000, consists of two urban centres, Georgetown and Acton, the Halton Hills Premier Gateway employment area, three hamlets – Glen Williams, Stewarttown and Norval – and several smaller settlements.
