HALTON HILLS, ON – After acting as Commissioner of Corporate Services, Laura Lancaster has been appointed permanently to the position, effective immediately. Lancaster was doing double duty as Director of Human Resources while serving in the acting capacity since January 2021.
“It’s my pleasure to announce that Laura has accepted this position,” said Chris Mills, Chief Administrative Officer. “I have worked with Laura since she joined the Town’s Human Resources (HR) Department in 2004, and her work ethic and performance have led her to hold increasingly more senior positions over the years.”
Lancaster was appointed to lead the HR team in 2015. As Director, she was instrumental in developing several corporate initiatives including staff engagement surveys, a succession planning program, a non-union benefits survey and provided guidance to the implementation of a new payroll system.
During her tenure as Acting Commissioner, Lancaster managed the municipality’s human resources pandemic-related response and recovery efforts and championed the Corporate Services Department at Senior Management Team and Town Council.
“Laura has been a valuable asset to the corporation, and Council is pleased with the appointment,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette.
