Halton Hills Town Councillors are attending the annual conference of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario where notes and best practices will be swapped among fellow councillors from across the province.
Older Adults - Halton Region allows older adult homeowners with low incomes to defer their property taxes, interest free, until their circumstances change. The program helps participants stay in their homes longer. Applications must be submitted to the Town by September 30. For eligibility and details, call 311.
Town of Halton Hills offers $500 Seniors’ Tax Grant for senior homeowners who receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement. Applications are sent automatically to eligible seniors.
Owners of Heritage Properties – Well maintained heritage properties that are designated under the Ontario Heritage Act are eligible for a 20% refund on their property taxes! The refund recognizes that we all share in the benefit and value of heritage properties since they help create our Town’s unique character. Contact Planning Department Heritage staff for details.
