Every year, we take pause and think about the sacrifices made by those who came before us. Remembrance Day is an important event and increasingly so as the numbers of men and women who experienced world wars or other conflicts dwindle with each passing year.
We always take a moment on November 11 to stop and reflect on the rights and freedoms we are so privileged to have and give pause to note those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I ask all of you, regardless of where you are at 11 a.m. on November 11, to stop, think and give thanks. If you’re with your family, then I encourage you to do this together. A brief moment of collective silence is the least we can do to respect and recognize the freedoms we enjoy that came at such a high cost for so many.
If you’re able, attend one of the parades or ceremonies commemorating Remembrance Day. You can find a list on our Veterans Information webpage.
Flags will be half-masted to mark the occasion.
