HALTON HILLS, ON. – The Helson Gallery in partnership with the Halton Black History Awareness Society is proud to announce the seventh annual Emancipation Art Exhibition, on display until September 15 in the Helson Gallery and Upper Sisnett Lobby of the Cultural Centre.
This year's juried exhibition continues the tradition of showcasing powerful artworks that explore and celebrate black history and the profound impact of Emancipation. Artists submitted their work through an open call that has led to a diverse and inspiring collection showcasing various facets of the Black Experience.
The exhibition kicks off with an opening reception on Sunday, August 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. During the reception, selected artists will be honored with awards for works that best reflect and articulate the Black Experience. This event provides a unique opportunity for the community to engage directly with the artists and their powerful narratives.
