New Outdoor Furnishings Support Acton Youth Centre

HALTON HILLS, ON – On Monday, August 29, 2022, the Acton Youth Centre celebrated the generous donation of outdoor furniture purchased from the proceeds of the 3 Musketears Golf Tournament.

Users of the youth centre provided input on the patio space furnishings which include two picnic tables, a bench and umbrellas.  

The annual golf tournament established in memory of three local youth, Mark Everson, Travis Toth and Rory Dick, has been held for the past 17 years. Since then, family and friends of the trio have raised and donated funds in their honour to various community initiatives, including the 3 Musketears Skatepark, in Acton.

“The generosity of the families and friends of the 3 Musketears enhances opportunities for youth in the Acton community and continues the legacy of this group,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “These additional amenities add friendly and welcoming spaces for youth to enjoy and build connections with everything the Acton Youth Centre has to offer.”

The Acton Youth Centre, located at 19 Willow Street North (within the Acton Town Hall), opened its doors to the community last fall. It serves as a hub of activity and a place for youth to gather, recreate, socialize, learn, collaborate, innovate, access local services, and grow.

As part of the Town’s youth services, the municipality operates two youth centres with locations in Acton and Georgetown. Both centres are operated by trained staff in partnership with social service agencies including Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK), ADAPT and Support House.
