New Town Council Elected

HALTON HILLS, ON – Yesterday’s election saw many changes for Halton Hills Town Council. To see the official results of the 2022 Municipal Election, visit the Town’s elections webpage.

This year’s election saw a voter turnout of 28.09%. While turnout dropped slightly compared to the 2018 election which saw 29.42%, turnout rates remain consistent due to an increase in 2022 eligible voters from 43,211 in 2018 to 47,008 presently. A total of 13,209 votes were cast in this year’s municipal election with 49.14% (6,491 votes) submitted online during the online advance voting period from October 7 to 22, 2022.

“I am pleased to pass the torch to my colleague Ann Lawlor,” said outgoing Mayor Rick Bonnette. “This is an exciting time of change for Halton Hills Town Council. We have a terrific blend of former Councillors who will share their knowledge and new blood who will bring fresh perspectives and insight.”

The inauguration for the new Town Council noted below will take place on Monday, November 21. All offices will be held for a four-year term.
