HALTON HILLS, ON. – The Town wants people to know that some residents will receive telephone calls from Forum Research, asking them to participate in a survey about fireworks. Around 450 surveys will be completed, resulting in a statistically valid result to inform Council of the community’s thoughts.
The survey follows extensive discussion amongst Town Council as to whether or to ban the sale and discharge of family fireworks. The survey will be carried out between August 6 and 25 with results presented at the October 28 Council meeting.
Residents interested in learning more about the fireworks issue may visit letstalkhaltonhills.ca to read staff and consultant reports and watch discussions from Council meetings. Residents interested in sharing their views about family fireworks are encouraged to email the Mayor and/or their Councillor. Contact information is available on the Town’s website and the letstalk engagement platform.
“Council has discussed the issue of fireworks at length and the survey will help inform our decision,” said Mayor Ann Lawlor. “I encourage residents to review the information available on our letstalk site and feel free to email me or their Councillor with their thoughts.”
