In September 2020 Amico Properties (Amico) submitted a Zoning By-law Amendment application (File No. D14ZBA20.010) for 69-79 Main Street South and 94-98 Mill Street to advance the former McGibbon Hotel condominium project. In 2018 the previous developers of the condominium proposal announced that the project had been cancelled. Amico’s application seeks to resurrect the development. The previous proposal had been approved by the OMB in 2017. Through the Zoning By-law Amendment application, Amico is seeking to amend the previous approval while respecting many of the previous elements that had been secured. See the frequently asked questions section for more details. Find more information on the former McGibbon Hotel proposal. Additionally, in consideration of the proposed increase in residential units, Amico proposes to provide an added community contribution in the form of an on-site connection that would provide pedestrian access between the Back Street municipal parking lot and Mill Street.
